• TITLE I

Title I is a federally funded program designed to increase student achievement. This program enables schools to provide opportunities for children served to acquire the knowledge and skills needed to meet the state’s challenging standards.

Trout Lake School uses its funds to provide some classes with teacher’s aides, certificated teachers, and to supplement school supplies so more manipulatives are available to teach lessons in many different ways.

The aides in the classroom have been labeled highly qualified by the state of Washington. These paraprofessionals cover reading, language arts, and math for K through 8th grade under Title I for a total of 9 hours each day.

Students are chosen for this program by the scores of their state test, teacher recommendation, and parental input. Our goal here at TLS is to bring all students up to grade level through intensive instruction.

The final strand in this process is parental and community involvement. Our school needs a strong partnership with the community to support the achievement of children served under Title I.
