Our Elementary students use the Accelerated Reader (AR) program here at Trout Lake School. AR is a reading incentive program designed to motivate students to read on their own while providing teachers with analysis of the results. A student chooses an AR book based on their reading level, reads the book and then takes a computerized comprehension quiz. Points are then awarded to the student based upon the number of correct answers and the point value of the book. Most teachers help the students set goals for themselves and there's always a celebration when goals are achieved!
