Vacant School Board Seat


The Trout Lake School District Board of Directors is seeking applications from qualified persons to fill the director position vacated by the resignation of Carl Allaway (Director Position #5). The board will appoint someone to fulfill the remainder of the term, which ends in 2023.

Requirements for board candidates include: must be a United States citizen, a resident of the Trout Lake School District, and a registered voter. 

  • The board will appoint someone to fill the remainder of Carl Allaway’s term, which ends in 2023.
  • The board is currently accepting applications for this upcoming vacancy, which can be submitted via paper copy or electronic form. Submit applications by January 25, 2021. 
  • Paper and electronic application can be found on the Trout Lake School District website under “District News” and “School Board”
  • Candidates will be contacted regarding the next steps in the process. Screening of applications will be January 27, 2021. 


The school board typically meets once a month throughout the year and attends additional committee meetings and work sessions throughout the year. 

Regular meetings of the Board are held at 7:00 p.m. on the fourth Wednesday of each month, except November and December. The meetings are held at the Trout Lake School except when required to meet via Zoom per the state of Washington. 

Board members are required to complete Open Public Meeting Online Training and expected to attend the annual WSSDA conference each year as their schedule allows.
